So I have to opportunity to go to Paris for a few days...and I have decided that it was a good idea. I leave today. Honestly, is Paris ever a bad idea? I did hear that there are some terrorists threats and they evacuated the Eiffel tower a few times, and that the whole city may still be on a transportation strike, but it is Paris. Paris!
This will be the second time that I have been to the city. The first time was about eight years ago and the only thing I saw, shamefully, was the Eiffel Tower (so it wasn't on my list of things-to-do anyway.) I saw Paris, but I didn't go to the Louvre. I went to the Louvre, but did not go inside. Let's not talk about it.
All I know is that I will go to the Louvre this time and I will also try to enjoy much more of the city, even though I will be by myself. I am meeting a friend, but she is staying with her own friends, so much of this trip may be a lot of "me-time". In Paris. ( It is a little intimidating when I write it!)
Wish me luck, hope that the transit strike is over for my sake, and let me know if there is anywhere in particular I should go while I am there. Au revior!

Lucky you. It's tortue reading this stuff, 'cos we live so far away, takes us a few months to get organised to visit o/s. Have fun and definitely Le Louvre is a must, or will you get side tracked searching for fabric stores..hmmm.
